We have a wild women

Each day Ali gets a little more ACTIVE. She suprises us all the time with how quick she is picking up things. I think she has been saying some chinese words but, is trying to repeat what we are saying and she understands everything we are saying. I mention bath and she is off and running to the bath tube. (she loves her bath). We had room service tonight for supper and she couldn't wait for us to set her on the bed and eat with us. We tell her to wipe her mouth when she gets something on it and she gets a napkin and wipes her face. Today has been another long day. I am so glad that we went to the orphanage. I only started to cry two times. We were ask not to take pictures of the children. They didn't have very many kids there today because most of them are in foster care and some were at school. The kids that were there were setting at a table eating a snack when we came in and they all started waving at us and saying hello. (Yes that was one of the times the tears came). I could have brought them all home. The orphanage has a lot of special needs children. We went into one room where the Nannie said it was Ali's playmates. They were all setting on a little stool in a row having some kind of class. They were all about her age. Another tear jerking moment. One of the Nannie's came over to her and was calling her by name and reached out to take her from me. She buried her head in my shoulder and wouldn't look at the Nannie (that's my girl). All and all the orphanage was a pleasant experience. Very, very clean. Our guide from CCAI said this was a very good orphanage. She has seen a lot of them. The hats you see us wearing in the picture are gifts to all of us form the orphanage. Some kind of Muslim hats. Also when we arrived we were taken into a room and all set down at a table where there were plates and plates of fruit for us to eat. Xinjiang is known for there grapes and fruit. This afternoon our guide took us to a market where you could buy some kind of dried worms by the scoop. This area in not what I expected,it is very modernized. Tomorrow the group is going to the Heavenly Lake. It takes 2 hours to get there and it is all outside. I think we are going to pass on this bus trip. Ali's cold is starting to get better and I hate to take her out in the cold for that lenght of time. Robin also has a pretty bad cold, so I think we are just going to hang around the hotel, although Ali may disagree. She loves to go. I get her coat and she comes with a smile on her face and arms out. Oh, and another thing, she blows kisses. I take it all my posts are showing up because I can't access my blog from China. I can post but, I can't see it when I am done. Well, gotta go and get a few things done. Ali has been asleep since 7 o'clock and I hope that is for the night. She was really tired.
Good night form Urumqi (two more nights here)

Hey guys!
Wow - the experience at the orphanage sounds really touching. I get tears in my eyes every time I read your posts.
I have been thinking...There is a little girl on the other side of the world that has suddenly become part of our wonderful family. How amazing is that!?!?! None of us have met her yet but some how we are all absolutely CRAZY about her and feel such a close connection. Ali now has wonderful parents, amazing brothers and a sister, and a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins! Not to mention - the most INCREDIBLE Grandma that anyone could ask for!!! (Am I right about Grandma, guys?) What a great family (even if we are a little nuts sometimes - haha)! Ali is just the perfect addition!
I can't tell you how excited I am for you guys!

With love and prayers,
Jessica

Hey,

What an experience at the orphanage. How sad to see the kids sitting there (brought a tear to my eye). Vickie, remember, you can't bring them all home. Just bring that precious little girl.

Angel, we'll talk about a party, sounds GREAT!!
Jessica, I think we all agree, Grandma is the best Mom & Grandma ever. Ali is certainly lucky to become a part of the whole family.

Vickie, I'm sure it seems like you've been there forever, but just hang in there.
Keep the posting & pictures coming, it makes us all feel a part of it.
Take care.
Love,
Cheryl

Cheryl, I'll call you about a party. I figured you guys will be anxious to see her too but through the week will probably be hard. As I said I have the weekend off after their return home. I think dates are 22nd and 23rd. If okay with mom, dad, and Ali, (how weird does that sound?) I think we'll plan on everyone coming up that Sunday. Ok with you and yours? Do you think Jess can make it home then? Anyway, I'll call soon.
Jess, I agree our Grandma is the greatest!!!! I brag about her every chance I get. My boys would agree also Grandma Dearth is the best. It makes me feel so good when I see how much they adore her because she is the special lady that connects this entire family and it makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside to see each generation of our family feel the same way about her. I'm sure Ali will feel the same too. Not only is she fortunate to have this family but we are blessed to have her. How wonderful God has been to us.
Love you mom, dad, and Ali.
We are praying for you. (mom and dad I am praying that you have the energy to keep up with your wild woman) What is it about the children in our family both genetic and notgenetic? She sounds like she will fit right in. Especially the wanting to be on the go.
I can't believe they weren't handing out free children at the orphanage.
Anyway, I don't envy your trip or some off the experiences you are encountering (i.e. the orphanage) but what an awesome experiecne it must be. But it has been long enough you need to come home your older children have been dealing long enough without you guys.
Love, Your Oldest Wonderful Daughter

Vickie and Robin,
You both look so happy. I know that the stress of being away from home is tough, but at least you can take this home with you and have for a long time. Better then fishing!!!!! And you won't throw this one away. If you ever decide you don't want her let me know that may be the only way I can get one. Unless BRADY and GARRET want me to take them!!!!!
Of course there is not a niece or nephew that I would not have taken. Even John Brown had a little Indian.

Sharon
Love you all,
Sharon

I hope dads cold gets better soon. It never seems to fail when dad goes on a trip he ends up sick,or he gets a bad ear infection (Vegas 3 years ago)If I know my father its not stopping him or slowing him down at all.I think we all learned at least one thing out of all of this and thats Sharon has a real issue with some nasty lumps in her throat. You might want to get that checked out. It sounds rather nasty and painful! I know they have hospitals in N.C. lets just hope they have brave Docters.Well as much as I like picking on Sharon, I have a little one wanting to watch Monster Inc.and there's no talking her out of it. Your tour is finished soilders,You won this battle with a clean sweep. So back your bags and get ready to fly home. You have family thier that misses ya.

Love,
Andrew

Hi everyone,

Thank you to my grandkids for the nice compliments, I now use a shoe horn to get my head in the door.
Vickie, you said you wanted a little one just like Syndey, well it looks like you got your wish!!!
They BOTH are adorable.

Can't wait to see Nickell, Sydney & Ali together and of course Brady & Garrett. It will be quite lively.

The pictures of the orphanage looked real nice. It's good to know she was in a nice place.
One day closer.
Love & prayers,
Mom
